About: Giovanni Melchiorre Bosco, known as Don Bosco, was born into a humble peasant family. His father passed away when he was just two years old, and his mother played a crucial role in his upbringing, fostering his early spiritual and educational interests. From a young age, Don Bosco was drawn to the priesthood and dedicated his life to the spiritual and educational needs of young people.
Known for his deep compassion and commitment to helping the disadvantaged, Don Bosco studied at various seminaries and was ordained a priest in 1841. He believed in preventive education and worked tirelessly to address the needs of poor and marginalized youth.
In 1859, Don Bosco founded the Society of St. Francis de Sales, commonly known as the Salesians. This religious institute focused on the education and spiritual formation of young people, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Don Bosco established schools, orphanages, and workshops across Italy and beyond, providing young people with a holistic education and vocational training. His life and work left a lasting impact, and he was canonized as a saint in 1934. The Salesian family continues his legacy today by operating numerous educational institutions worldwide.
At Don Bosco, we empower students to excel academically and in life, shaping them into tomorrow’s leaders. Are you ready to join the journey of excellence...?
