Our Founder
Giovanni Melchiorre Bosco, known as Don Bosco, was born on August 16, 1815, in Castelnuovo d'Asti, Italy. He came from a humble peasant family, with his father, Francesco Bosco, passing away when Don Bosco was just two years old. His mother, Margaret Ochiena, played a crucial role in his upbringing, nurturing his early spiritual and educational interests.
From a young age, Don Bosco was drawn to the priesthood and dedicated himself to the spiritual and educational needs of young people. He was known for his deep compassion and commitment to helping the disadvantaged. He studied at various seminaries and was ordained a priest in 1841. During his studies, he was particularly influenced by the idea of preventive education and the need to address the issues faced by poor and marginalized youth.
In 1859, Don Bosco founded the Society of St. Francis de Sales, commonly known as the Salesians. This religious institute was dedicated to the education and spiritual formation of young people, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Alongside, Don Bosco established schools, orphanages, and workshops across Italy and beyond, creating environments where young people could receive a holistic education and vocational training.
Don Bosco passed away on January 31, 1888. His life and work left a profound impact, and he was canonized as a saint in 1934. The Salesian family continues to operate numerous educational institutions, including schools, colleges, and vocational training centers worldwide, dedicated to the principles Don Bosco championed.
The founders of Don Bosco School were inspired by St. John Bosco's commitment to educating and empowering young people, especially those from marginalized backgrounds. They envisioned an institution that would nurture both the minds and hearts of children, preparing them for a life of purpose and service.
With a dedication to academic excellence, character development, and spiritual growth, the founders created a learning environment where every child is valued and given the opportunity to thrive.
The school’s founders were passionate about holistic child development and believed in education beyond the classroom, fostering creativity, leadership, and responsibility. Don Bosco Primary School continues to inspire generations with values of integrity, service, and kindness.
At Don Bosco, we empower students to excel academically and in life, shaping them into tomorrow’s leaders. Are you ready to join the journey of excellence...?
